Which Screen Wash?

Personally in the summer I use Sonax Clear View screen wash. Great performance and very ecconomical, one bottle lasts me all summer and has an easy to use measuring dispenser.

In the winter I use Autoglym All Season Quick Clear screen wash. Not cheap and a pain to measure out - but I've yet to find anything that performs as well.

What do you use?

Baby Seal Tears

No actually I used the Einszett Antifrost stuff with a shhot of Einszett Kristall Klar. Although it's not frozen yet it can work out dear.

For example if you want 1l of SW which will work down to -20Deg C it's about £6, -12Deg C is 1.5l for £6

Last year I used the Pink ready mixed Halfrauds premium without issue.

Sadly though it's just been serviced and they appear to have filled up with the sh*t bog-standard LR stuff which promptly froze this morning in -6Deg C

Censored 's

I've heard the Sonax is good so may try it.

I used cheap vodka in Riga once as it was 1/3rd price of SW.

It's the weather down here. I've only used the screenwash a few times in the last month.
It gets cleaned manually each day at work before I go home. Smile

I find Legionnaire's really hard to remove, is there anything specific one can use to get rid of them?

Preliminary research by the Health Protection Agency suggests that in order to protect themselves from Legionnaire’s Disease, drivers should always remember to put screen wash in the reservoir which holds the water that washes the car windscreen.

Following higher than usual incidences of the disease in the summer of 2006, a study undertaken showed that for some reason there was a particularly high incidence of the disease among professional drivers. It was then found that there was a strong correlation between non-professional drivers and a lack of screen wash in their windscreen water reservoirs.

Although drivers could have been contracting the disease from exterior sources where the Legionella bacteria likes to breed, such as air-conditioning units, showers or cooling towers, they could just as easily be getting a dose through open widows or air vents whenever they cleaned their windscreen.

Legionella bacteria breed in warm, stagnant water and are then spread to humans when suspended in droplets of water which hang in the air to be inhaled, exactly what is caused by aerosol systems like air-conditioning, or the fine spray produced by a windscreen washing device.

Although more research needs to be done to find out whether or not screen wash was preventing the Legionella bacteria from breeding, a separate investigation conducted by the Environmental Protection Agency, has shown that one-in-five cars tested came up positive for Legionella in the windscreen reservoir. Of all the cars tested, none of those in which the driver was using a screen wash in the water, had any trace of the disease.

Lol, I actually thought you were jesting - seems not.

What if someone in front of me uses their washer and I get sprayed with it? Can the pollution sensor be programmed to be a bio-hazard sensor too?

I have now repeated this incredulous fact around work - no one else seems bothered at the fact we might all die from our screen wash! Well, except 'Slim Deb', but to be fair the pies are guna get her first.
