As title chaps. It's going in again tomorrow for a failed EGR valve and the deployable steps have packed up.

Well, been considering the options and am going to a different dealer tomorrow to get a slightly more independent view of the matter. Hopefully it's fixable but if I end up rejecting I really don't know what I'll do from there. Another L405 looks doubtful based on this one. |

It's funny you mention that, thought I was going mad.

Sorry to hear about your further issues - Sounds like you got a lemon ![]() I wouldn't give up on the L405 though - there are plenty of happy owners on here - it might actually be the easiest way out as the dealership are more likely to do a trade than a refund..... |

OK, well I had a moment of inspiration once I had calmed down enough to think straight. I emailed Dr Ralf Speth, the CEO of JLR globally. A very nice man who I have met personally. Without wanting to divulge too much in open forum I believe we might be heading the right way now. |

I think it's only right and fair that you divulge his email address and mobile number on this forum so that we can bombard him with praise for his products |

I also have exactly the same thing -happens when pulling away with the steering turned left or right with the noise disappearing when I straighten up.

It's an issue with the wrong lubricant in the transfer box. Depending on how long you've had the issue it either needs a change of fluid or a replacement transfer box.

So is that not a recall issue?
