Insurance

A long time lurker on here, have been pondering a Range Rover for quite some time.

Nearly bought a few times but always found an excuse not to!

Anyway, deposit down and subject to test drive I will finally have one on my drive. Gone for V8 diesel autobiography.

Hit a big snag today though which was insurance. This will be THE most expensive car to insure of all the cars I have by quite a long way.

Does anyone have any advice on who to go to for reasonable insurance as i have kind of exhasuted all the usual routes.

This is even more to insure than both British and Italian exotica!

Thanks in advance

United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Santorini Black

Site sponsors A-Plan are always worth a call.

I'm with Aviva who were the cheapest for me - and don't seem to be on comparison sites.

Try the search function on this site also - that will probably turn up some others - I seem to recall NFU being favoured by some.

Many thanks - will call them tomorrow and ask for quotes.

Made my eyes water and even the wallet moths were having a cardiac arrest after getting todays prices Laughing

A few insurance companies have said that these were very sought after by thieves.

Even had one company ask if I would be visiting London in it - apparantly this is the worst place you can take one as theft is highly likely?

See here for lots of views......

In my experience lots if online searching and pricing pays dividends as I have usually got my existing insurer to match the best I could find online. Thumbs Up

The trick is to find the insurer that fits you into a "standard risk" box and gives you a cheaper quote which you then use to beat all the others down.

I have been searching the website and it seems that the topic of insurance is a well worn subject.

Apologies, should have maybe looked before asking the question.

Cannot beleive the rates, I have one policy with a GWagon and an IQ and that is only £450 for both! GWagon cost more than Range Rover so cost must be down to theft history.

Will see how I get on as cannot see myself being rodgered for insurance.

Yes. Think you'll find its all about desirability. If there were a G Wagon and a FFRR next to each other in a car park you can bet Mr Thief would take the fattie. Shocked

Probably wouldn't know what the G Wagon was either......... Rolling Eyes 2017 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography

And we are sorted Thumbs Up

A plan, really expensive for me.
AA - couldn't quote, no idea why as live in the sticks with virtually zero crime.
Direct line, too expensive, 4 figures.

All the usual insurance companies way too expensive, at one point i thought stuff it, not paying more for a Range Rover than a real high performance sports car!

At the eleventh hour though one company came through so all is happy in hectors house. Not divulging company until quote accepted, hope all will understand.

Can now proceed to buy the car i have a deposit on.

Thanks to everyone that helped on what was a repetitive topic.

Roll on mid March for collection.......providing test drive goes ok Laughing
