DIY Spare Wheel Lifting Strap

After removing spare wheel once, i decided i needed a lifting strap.Found two on ebay ~ 50 euros and with customs and VAT
I was looking at around 120-130 euros.So decided to make my own and this is what I did.Cost 8~9 Euros and couple hours of work.
It works great.

Mine came with the lifting strap, I thought that was a standard feature on all???
Also the Factory one also comes with a plastic locking bar that prevents the tailgate lifting when you use the strap when the weight of the spare is on the strap , a safety device to save the family jewels

I do have one, aluminium one, no cheap plastic here, however my setup balances fine without one so I didn't include it in the pictures.
As for it being supplied with the car I believe that later models did not come with it.

What length is each strap please?

10mm bolt (2)
washer 37x2.8mm (2)
Al. U channel 15x15x2mm 400 mm (for the locking bar)

Looks good - how about adding a strap through wheel to help pull it out once it is raised Series 2a LWB Hardtop - ex British Aerospace that was then used in an armed robbery! not by me!
