What does the sensor do exactly?

And would you be able to tell it's clogged from say using a IIDTool?

. Cheers, Greg

It measures boost to inform the ECU. Here's a good explanation.

I think it would be quicker to pull out a torx screw driver and do a visual inspection, compared to setting up an IIDTOOL. The IID will give you detailed information. But without knowing the "normal" readings to compare against I don't know how the IID tool would tell you it needs a clean. ______________________________

Where did you buy the blank kit for the RR?
I cut to size a thin metal plate to fit between the flat flanges where the 2 tubes mate near the throttle body. A better spot would be where the exhaust enters the EGR valve to prevent it sticking but for the test, the very accessible join was ideal.

When I was doing my oil cooler fix, I had the map sensor out and let the tip of it soak in some brake cleaner.

Like Nino says, for all the effort involved, it may be worth removing and cleaning it at regular intervals.
