There is massive strength in the strut tops, they will hold the engine up no bother at all.
That rust has come through from the inside so be very careful about the "new" one you buy, it could be a month away from looking the same.
If it was me I would get it dipped to strip all the existing paint and surface rust off then a good inspection should reveal if it is OK, I'd then have it hot dipped galvanised, powder coating will only cover the outside and not provide any protection from where the rust is coming from, you could inject it with rust preventative but galvanising is pretty cheap and will make it last for years..
I'd also change the subframe mountings as a matter of course, and while it's out it will be easier to change the brake pipes if they haven't been done yet...
