5W-30 is the correct grade of oil specified by Land Rover for this engine. I'm not certain whether that Castrol oil complies with the Ford specification WSS-M2C913-B or WSS-M2C913-C, but that's what LR tell us we need. The TDV8 is a Ford-derived engine.

when my starting got poor it was an injector losing pressure and since its was refurbed the starting is brilliant so my suggestion is get the injectors spill tested |

Alex, may want to try some 2T oil. it will clean and lubricate full pump and injectors. I use 1/2 L on a tank full.
