TDV 4.4 oil drain refitting?

The oil level was high on the display so i decided to drain some out from under the car.

I have been under it and drained out about 1/2 a litre, and it is now reading right.

One question, HELP, before i put the under tray on.

I can't push the fitting on any more than this, i don't think it was on any more to start with. There only seems to be one lip for it to latch over. Cant push it home any further even if I squeeze the clips. It won't pull off even with a bit of force but will pull back and forwards a bit....

help...... Bow down Bow down Bow down don't want to drive off tomorrow and it come off and dump all the oil on the road and have a big bang expensive engine replacement moment........ There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜œ

In the end the bleeding fitting was leaking and the dealer replaced it under warranty. So Iโ€™m a happy bunny. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜œ

Very hard squeeze and wiggle and pull of the two recessed tabs all at the same time.

For peace of mind, measure how much gap there is before removing so when you put it back you know it's seated.

Other get the Draper suction thingy.

I'm a dropper myself.

. Thumbs Up Cheers, Greg

Or buy a vacuum pump and suck it out via the tube on top of engine. So much easier and cleaner.

Thank you. Managed to get the bottom plug thingy off and back on again. Hope it doesn't leak.
I may look into sucking in the future! ๐Ÿ˜Š Steve
