Reading through the OP has put me off buying a car with a Dpf for life. |

I live in Bishops Stortford so suburban but the car certainly doesn’t do the 50mph busts very often but I reckon I get a yellow DPF light once a year`maybe three times in 2 years and it takes 4/5 mins to clear at 50mph.

I've been holding off replying to this as dpf's caused me a lot of headaches / nightmares a few years back and are the reason I own a 2005 non DPF FFRR and not newer.

Hi John, didn't see your question until now..... Your drive sounds fine, it's 20-30mph speeds that are bad news for DPF's. We went down from central London to Biggin Hill yesterday for the airshow ( . 5.0 super charged is looking mighty tempting now I only do 6,000 of mostly in town driving! |

One of the reasons I did plump for the 5.0 S/C, having read so much about DPF pain across a variety of vehicles with town driving. No doubt my timing chain tensioner/guides will let go now instead |
