Apart from checking the TPs which I presume you've already done , worn tyres can cause heavy steering after that fluid level in the reservoir , after that fluid condition ,

Faulty BCM (body control module) - situated under passenger seat - can cause heavy steering. Do u have one or two doors with intermittent locking/unlocking problems? Then this needs changing |

Don’t think it can be cleared, it needs replacing. It’s an easy enough 1/2 hr-1hr job (write up on wiki http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic40009.html
