Charging question

Hi,

Out of the blue my Bluetooth went off the other day an hour later my battery light started to have an odd flash while driving. I used a multimeter and battery was showing 10.8 volts so charged overnight.

Next day battery showed 11.98 v after charge and 14v when running all good.

Later that day battery light started flashing then came on more or less all the time, multimeter back on and car appeared to be charging at around 12v but kept dropping an and out. Back on charge overnight and when cold charged at 14v again. After a few miles battery light started to flash.

2 questions can the Bluetooth be related to this and does this sound like an Alternator fault even though it charges at 14v with a charged battery ?

Many Thanks Mick

I had battery issues I discovered the car was heating or cooling itself at midnight for 2 hours , I switched of the timer and problem solved: not likely the wifi current draw to Low. I have a Chek battery monitor really helpful.

I guess it's possible that the bluetooth module is particularly sensitive and is one of the first things to switch off at a lower voltage....

How old is the battery ?

Could be the battery or alternator or both - cheapest first step would be to get the battery properly checked - Halfords or Euro Car Parts can do that for you if you take it in. The machines they have can apply load and are a lot better than a multimeter
