Didn't work on mine!

Found this (below), is slightly different procedure, maybe this will work on someones car:

Resetting the Oil Service or Service Interval Message.
Ignition key must be “off”.
• Press and hold the trip odometer button in the instrument cluster (left button), and turn the ignition key to the first position (KLR).
• Keep the button pressed for approximately 5 seconds until one of the following words appear in the display: “OIL SERVICE, or “INSPECTION”, with “reset”.
• Release the reset button and press and hold it again until “reset” begins to flash.
• While the display is flashing, press the left button briefly to reset the service interval.
After the display has shown the new interval, the following will appear: “END SIA

Did this on mine last night, but the actual interval never changed. Which leads me to suspect that it might actually have had an oil change recently - the oil wasn't properly black. The cabin air filter was, though. Rolling Eyes

This does work... try again. How will the car know the oil is not black yet ? Wink

But before you try, why reset it if it apparently doesn't need resetting? Or does it? .

Well, I'm happy enough changing the oil and filters again in a year or 8,000 miles, but I'd rather tell the car it's been done than leave it and find it's telling me it needs serviced when I may have just done one if I hadn't reset it.
That made sense to me in my head, but written down... Laughing

I just have my 2006 AJV8 serviced every 12,000 miles or every year whichever is first (normally around 10,000 miles) but have never had any service message comeup in the 5 years / 62,000 miles I have owned it. Is it possible that a P/O has turned off teh service indicator somehow? There is a difference between knowing your sh!t and knowing you're sh!t
