Also you dont need to take the dash out to get at the blend motors just the glove box and the finishing panel on the drivers side

Heads up for those of you with FBH:

I had a leak on mine, and filled it up with water to check for leaks. I then realised I had no heat and started looking for the problem. I turned out the seals for the two-way valve swithcing between engine and FBH had swollen so much that both ways of the valve were plugged. I believe this could be caused by osmosis (big coolant molecules trapped inside the rubber makes water diffuse into the rubber).

I changed the seals, and even with good seals I would say that this valve is probably a restriction in the system. I wonder if cars without FBH actually have more powerful heaters? 2006 Supercharged

No, petrols do not come with FBH as std - it is an option. I have it on my v8 petrol autobiography.

Well done for identifying the cause. I reckon this is a common cause of heating probs (I had it on mine too)

As said my valve suffered from swollen valve seats, for interest it would be nice if you could report back if that was the problem for you. 2006 Supercharged

Thank you, this is just for history for others to see. If the seats have increased in size the valve will be stuck in the middle position, maybe this is what the mechanic is reporting. 2006 Supercharged

FBH = fuel burning heater, I’m sure someone else will advise you of where it is situated

Cheers fella. I don’t have one of those so can’t be that valve then.

Fixed Very Happy It was the valve for the fbh See pic Part no. is on the box

Pic with solenoid removed the sliver part would turn but not move up & down

Taken apart It took a lot to separate it

The offending seal It was rock hard & ‘seized’ to body of valve

£230 from Range Rover £120 2nd hand on eBay I’m not sure if there’s a replacement seal kit available ?

I don’t know where the valve is situated I’m sure someone with a bit more knowledge will post
