[FOUND] Polystyrene Mount For L405 Spacesaver Wheel

I believe the L405 spacesaver spare wheel requires a polystyrene section fitted underneath which a full size spare doesn't need.

If anyone has one surplus to requirement, I'd be interested.

Thanks

Edit - now found one, thanks to tb10

If a full size spare will fit, why get a space saver? Ron B. VK2OTC

Off topic, but I'd far rather have an odd (non-matching) wheel the same size, than a space saver - at least that way you can travel as far and as fast as you would otherwise. Maybe it's just because I do long fast runs at times of day when stopping to get a puncture repaired just isn't possible.....

It can't look any worse than having a space saver fitted.

I should have phrased is as "why would one have a space saver wheel if a full size wheel will fit?" Is a space save standard factory fit net these days? Ron B. VK2OTC

Yes - you can spec a full size one for not much money - IIRC a couple of hundred pounds, but otherwise you get a space saver - which I guess at best could be marketed as a weight saver as once you chuck in a lump of polystyrene you save zero space.....

Re: [Wanted] Polystyrene Mount For L405 Spacesaver Wheel

Hi, I will have one in a week or two (possibly less) as I am currently in the process of buying a full size spare, which should arrive next week some time. Just need to put on a tyre and TPMS sensor, and the polystyrene (and my space saver) will be surplus to requirements. Not sure if it would survive a delivery experience though!
