Not really sure about charging - but it does keep my iPod live so I assume it must! Current: 2011 FFRR Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

I can't shed much light on this but older (much older) Apple gadgets like my old iPod charged from firewire (not USB) and my 2010 charges that fine - iPod lead connect straight into RR and the 30 pin socket on iPod but not my iPhone 6 even with the genuine apple cable (30pin to lightening) in the middle. So if I have to charge separately then I might as well mess with the Bovee and see how that shapes up.

My problem is playing saved Spotify playlists which I couldn't save to my old iPod Geoff

Our newly purchased 2010MY RR SE has the iPod port in the centre armrest box and there is also what I assume to be the factory iPod lead. Next to the port is a USB socket.

So this Bovee just plugs into the iPod lead then?

Yes just plugs into the iPod port.

I tried a few different methods but ended up going Bovee. Works very well.
. Cheers, Greg

There is a Bovee WMA3000 on Amazon with the lead built in for £84.99. Says Audi/ BMW / Ford / Mercedes. Should work shouldn't it?

^ no

The only one which works is the one with the 30 pin old style apple connector, connected to the LR lead into the IPod socket. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

The 3000 has the iPod plug on it. The plug that plugs into the car.

The connector on that is different from the LR socket in the car. I happen to have an Audi lead and a LR lead in front of me on the desk and they are subtly different plugs. Thumbs Up

Connector on L is JLR one on right is the Audi/merc connector on the wma3000. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Just ordered a Bovee off of amazon, it doesn’t say if it comes with a lead, or not.
I have the factory lead in mine, that you plug an iPod on the end of, and every thing works fine.
Do you just unplug the iPod, and plug the Bovee unit in its place?
What I mean is, is the connection on the bovee unit the same as an iPod (30 pin)?

If it’s the 1000 model then yes it’s a normal old style iPod connector. Plug it in, pair your phone, and away you go. Thumbs Up There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

If it's a 3000 it'll have a fixed cable and won't work Sad Current: 2011 FFRR Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

I've had my Bovee 1000 (from Amazon it came with a RR lead) for about a fortnight now and I have to say that although it offers no more functionality than the cable set up i.e. it does everything except charge (inc play Spotify downloads) - its way more convenient. I already had a lead so now I've got two. Geoff
