towing with L322

Would you, could you, or should you use a Hahnen Reece Weight Distribution hitch on a RR and caravan
I do use one with my present vehicle but with the RR having air/self leveling suspension should I use it on the RR
thanks RR 2005 4.4 petrol

Sorry - no idea what one of those is.

I have towed all sorts of trailers without a problem - the suspension keeps the car level Thumbs Up

I suspect the RR has trailer nose weight maximum limits like every car. Recently I was towing a 4-wheel minidigger trailer with a 1.5 ton scissor lift in it. The air suspension could not raise the car if the trailer wasn't loaded in a balanced manner. Might be an issue with the suspension on my car(!) but if you know your trailer/caravan is heavy at the front, particularly if a two wheel van/trailer I would use a load balancer arrangement if available. Previously a 2008MY Tonga Green Vogue SE 3.6 TDV8

IIRC the nose weight limit is 150kg - which is about as high as it gets.

I've certainly towed a twin axle trailer with probably double that & not had a problem Whistle

It is alistair, but I think that’s a UK limit, the towing hitch will take more and I think that there is different limits in different countries.

In Australia I think it’s something like 400kg? Could be wrong though. Trying to remember from the manual while sitting in the barber...

I stand corrected..... 250kg, Australia only....

I checked my handbook (2008MY) and it says the trailer nose weight is 150Kg max for diesels and 140Kg max for petrol but that if necessary when towing a heavy trailer with run-on brakes it can be increased to a max of 250Kg as long as the overall GVW combined with the trailer nose weight does not exceed the maximum rear axle weight limit of just over 2000 Kg.

Except in Australia where it is max 350Kg regardless! Previously a 2008MY Tonga Green Vogue SE 3.6 TDV8
