United Kingdom

My 5.0SC was fitted with Pirelli Scorpions when I bought it and while the handling was what I expected, I was a bit disappointed with the road noise. I had my wheels refurbed last year and decided to treat myself to a set of Dunlop SP Quatromaxx XL's as I have been so impressed with the Sport Maxx on my M3.

I have to say that I have been really impressed with these too. The car handles really well, the road noise is much quieter and I have gained a couple of MPG (which is significant on a 5.0!). I have only covered a couple of thousand miles with them so cannot really comment on longevity but they are showing very little sign of wear. Likewise, the car seldom goes off road but we had a lot of snow on our country lanes here and they coped very well.

The only other thing was that they seem to be harder to find in our size and mostly only available online though this actually suited me perfectly as I wanted the people that refurbed the wheels to fit the tyres in case they marked the rims during fitting etc.

Hope that helps.
