Hi guys, as I have said in a previous post I will soon be looking for a rrvv8 lpg, is it worth me getting a gap tool to check the cars I go to see and if they are pigs in bags or decent buys? I have read some horror stories on here we're people have brought there cars and had serious issues after a very short time, would a gap tool give me a rough idea how the car is and if the seller is genuine or full of s**t, Im shore a genuine seller would not mind me plugging a gap tool in to check, what do you guys think. Hi Pete,
Most of our tools are only for one car, and one only.
So you have to unlock the tool for the car you want to buy.
And than for the next car you have to buy a new
ownershipcode. Look on gap-diagnostics

as above, the GAP iidtool is vin locked but will read and clear faults on any other FF...saying that , it could be that any faults read could be historical ....

To offer a contrary view, I have taken one to view a car and all was fine. I asked whilst arranging the viewing, so didn't blindside them, they had no issue. I can understand why they might not be comfortable, but I'd always ask, what's the harm?

I thought it was fairly standard these days to scan a car for faults before buying?

Obviously the owner could have cleared any problem codes, but I wouldn't be buying one without a quick check (via GAP or any other fault reading tool).
