2002 radio - aux

Scroll through the screen between cd, radio and tape, I also have Aux. What does this even do as there is seemingly no aux input and the radio booklet doesn't even make mention of it.
Cheers

There is a mod that can be done to the BM54 amp [which is in the l/h side of the boot] that adds the AUX option to the menu so you can play music from mp3s & phones.

People who do this mod add a cable into the BM54 with a 2.5mm jack plug to connect the phones to. My cable comes into the centre cubby box so I can connect the phone/mp3 player there.

I'd suggest you have a look at the BM54 to see if there is an extra cable coming out of it, and then try to follow that cable to see where the other end is.

I've used a company called Sound Secure in Rochdale to do a couple of these mods and he seems to know what he's doing. Current:

Many thanks. The car used to have a Parrot phone thingy fitted, would that be it ? I don't see any conventional aux in

I believe adding the AUX option is only a software change, so maybe it was done for some reason for the Parrott system. Current:

England

I had my BM54 aux in upgraded by Baris
I had the choice of doing my own connections (inside the box, soldering wires to pins etc.) once he had done his thing,
or to have two phono sockets fitted to the case.

I went for the latter Thumbs Up

AFAIK a physical connection is required .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember Wink
