Key fob and central locking

For some reason I can no longer lock/unlock my Rangie with the key fob.

The lock/unlock button under the hazard button, on the centre console, works ok.

Is this a key fob battery dead situation?

I’ve had no binging or bonging warning me of a low battery in the fob, though. 2007 3.6 TDV8

Anyone have any tips with changing the battery before I wreck something?

Battery appears to be soldered in

A Trap 

Battery definitely doesn’t ‘slide out’, you need to desolder the two pins from the battery on the circuit board. Get a repair kit or battery and you will see what to do. It’s not hard, just need a soldering iron with a small tip and a steady hand.

Check out nut job on YouTube, he did a video on repairing his key fob which included replacing the battery

so the batterys that charge via the ignition are soldered in, didnt know that....but, i assume that if the battery has gone past its recharge capacity then a new one is required..
