United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Stornoway Grey

Chuffed to bits. It sailed through its MOT with no advisories today.

Now added the tuning companies stickers to my custom engine cover.

Yesterday morning I had to rush to A&E and was stuck in Hospital all day, without hesitation I grabbed the V8, and after a whole day of being treated and morphined up to the eyeballs I was so glad to get back to my comfortable and fast V8. Really cheered me up seeing it in the car park. Only downside was I had to be a passenger on the way home which wasn’t fun.

Another job crossed off the list. Mankey old pollen filter replaced with nice new one.

Finally got round to wiring up my app controlled WiFi Reverse Camera. Ended up moving it from the upper tailgate handle, and placing it under the rear bumper. Only down side is, it takes 10-20 seconds for the camera to connect to the phone app, and if you happen to be near your home and have your home wifi set to automatically connect to your phone, then you have to manually change the wifi back to connecting to the camera. But the picture is crystal clear. Very happy with it.

I got bored, decided to attempt to make my splitters look similar to the Overfinch kit. Hope it looks ok on the car.

I will probably end up painting them to match the car later this year. If I am happy with them, I will do the same on the TD6

Got the trims back on, happy with how it is going to look, but not how it is now, luckily I took Tank up to Surrey to collect new trims with fully in tact tabs. As these ones lasted all of 2 seconds back on the car due to broken tabs. So tomorrow I have to go and buy a specific sized (60mm) holesaw, to cut holes in the new trim. Also discovered that my fuel tank heat shield has completely detached from the car now Rolling Eyes But had massive fun this afternoon driving through Eynsford Ford 4 times Rolling with laughter

I am also planning on getting the 19" Wheels on so I can finally get rid of these 18" wheels that look horrible.

Picture of the holes I cut in the splitters.

I also had a new problem that reared its ugly head on Sunday, bonnet stopped opening 🙄😥 so took the trim off inside today, luckily turns out the end of the bonnet release cable had snapped. So that’s on the shopping list now.

The look is starting to come together. I am not happy with the one hole, so going to add 1 more.

Finally finished the mod I started. I am now happy with the final decision. Now waiting for the glue to dry, then the splitters can be fitted back on the car.

Think I managed to get a better picture of the modified splitters. Not had time to clean the car though.

I have started the carbon fibre wrap test on the spare door pillar trims.

I still have a lot of preparation work to do.

Between hospital visits, resting and bad weather, all I have managed to do was sand down the corroded spare window trim and use filler on it. I have smoothed it right down since the picture was taken though. Depending on how I feel Friday, I plan on fitting the vinyl wrap to the trims. I have been banished to the outdoors for that part though as the adhesion promotor stinks Laughing so my partner kindly put our gazebo up with the side panels on ready. After all this effort and expense, I hope it looks good. I have spent in total, about £50 on this.

Also treating the V8 to having the gearbox oil cooler fitted that I have had for over 2 years 😂
And I have seen another modification I like which is the electronic exhaust valve.

We shall see what happens though.

Finally got the vinyl fitted to the spare door trims. Need to pop a few air bubbles and remove some glue residue that I accidentally got on the vinyl. Very happy with how it looks though. I wasn't sure if it would look ok or not, but I think it's subtle enough.

1 side is done, Vinyl wrap is fitted. I am happy with the new look, not perfect, but not bad I don't think for someone with tremors, doing it between heavy rain and hail Laughing

Sunday I will be doing the passenger side.
