Accessing EPB service Mode

I'm guessing this has been asked before, but i cant find an answer relating to a 2010 Vogue 4.4 HSE.

I want to change the disks and pads all round. Front is pretty straight forward, but I'm told to do the rears i need to put the car in service mode? I've also read about putting into EPB service mod, so

Q1) Are there different service modes?

Q2) How are the accessed. Can you do it in car using EPB lever, accelerator and turn off and back on? (tried that particular route after watching you tube..it didnt work, but worth checking.

Q3) For my car/year do I need a diagnostics tool to do this work?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Kevin

You just need the handbrake off. Turn it off then hold down the button as if turning it off and then turn the ignition key off. That should keep it off. There is a procedure to bed it in once the discs are replaced too. Current 2007 TDV8 Vogue Buckingham Blue

Thanks kbald. This something you've done and it worked fine? Guess the bedding in procedure will be on here somewhere as well.

Yep exactly what I did with mine. Mines a 2007 but still same electronic handbrake I believe. The bedding in process is indeed on here I'm sure I posted it myself. Just try the search die disc change or handbrake bedding in process and it should come up.
The other way is with a diagnostic tool like an iid or equivelant which is hand to have but costs a bit. Current 2007 TDV8 Vogue Buckingham Blue

I did the bedding in manually as per a thread on here, took a while but I got there.

I did it without IID or putting handbrake in service mode. Bedding in process worked fine too after a couple of attempts. Previously a 2008MY Tonga Green Vogue SE 3.6 TDV8
