Yep - it's a 2010 car:

I climbed underneath to have a little look - seems clean and dry, with some light oil deposits around the bell housing:

I have a feeling that might have been a particularly wayward oil filter change, as there's evidence of spilled oil around the filter housing on the top of the engine too.

I'd say the gearbox is desperate for a fluid and filter change - no evidence of it having been done (116k) so that's all been ordered and I'll do that next weekend. Will do all of the other fluids at the same time, too.

This weekend I gave it a bit of a fluids service, doing the auto box, transfer case, both diffs and the engine oil along with all the filters.

The transmission fluid wasn't burned, but it was dark brown instead of pale orange as it should be, so I think it'll make sense to run it a little while then dump the fluid out and refill again. The transfer case fluid was a bit dark too.

It drives much much better - gear shifts are a lot sweeter and more consistent, and the engine feels really silken and smooth. The A/C wasn't working when I got it, and I thought I had a bit of luck by getting it evacuated and refilled, but it's almost empty again, and I see oil staining at the bottom of the condenser so I'll replace that and the drier shortly. Whilst I'm doing that, I can also drain and refresh the coolant too.

That, plus PAS and brake fluid and it'll have had a full fluids replacement then.

Clean in there:

The best tool I've bought recently, filled the transmission in no time at all:

Whilst I was in the engine bay I noticed one of the boost hoses was very hard and not supple - clearly it had been leaking slightly:
