2010 reverse camera view seems wrong?

Have just bought a 2010MY L322 and the reverse camera view seems very odd in comparison to my previous 2008. Picture quality is much better however there is a large obscured area at the bottom and at the top right corner of the image.

Also the rear wiper seems to just clip the spoiler so I think somebody may have had the spoiler off and not refitted properly?

I’m not sure if it should have any overlay graphics or if that’s only on cars with surround cameras?

Any thoughts on alignment or other potential causes?

Also if anyone could please point me to or take a photo of what it should look like that would be much appreciated.

Many thanks

I've had a look this morning and gone into the diagnostics menu to check for any settings but can't seem to change anything.

Below is what my image looks like - it's super wide but also includes a large chunk of rear window at the bottom. I'd quite like to get it back to normal and would like the overlay graphics if they're supposed to be there.

I took a photo of the camera itself too which looks standard to me but I guess it's possible the previous owner had changed it for a wider angle one?

Any ideas wise folks of the forum?

That does look a bit weird!

Maybe someone has fitted a 120 degree aftermarket?

Mine has static marker lines -- I understand the multi camera system has moving lines.

I do get a bit of (reflection?) as the bottom of your screen but only about half of what you see Current: 2011 FFRR Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Thanks all, I think it may be spoiler fit as the wiper is fouling but where are the graphics/lines I wonder?

Just took off the spoiler and refitted - wiper fouling is fixed but the camera image is much the same. The camera housing does seem to move a bit if I push on it so I suspect it’s either been repaired or replaced at some point. I think I’ll look out for a used camera on the bay from a breaker to try.

The plot thickens... hadn’t noticed before the image is mirrored left to right which is less than helpful. Really need a replacement...

Thanks Stan, will have a look at the wiki. Bit more googling I’ve discovered the flipped image and graphics disappearing is a known issue caused by a defective camera. The camera looks genuine so I suspect this is the issue mine has. Apparently there is an LR bulletin about it too which I’m trying to locate.

Thanks again
