Andy, this may sound strange, but I just wonder if it might be related to your battery. I have a 2006 MY S/C, I have gearbox issues, and I'm pretty sure mine are caused by a failing battery giving low voltage, causing faults. Mine is particularly bad at idle, low revs, which is why your description rang a bell.

I phoned my local LR dealer who suggested it may be lack of lubricant at the selector cable / gearbox area. So I've decided to get transmission fluid changed and selector checked and lubed. The battery starts the car with good power even after 2 weeks of no use, but I will get it checked --- thanks for the suggestion.

No drive in Sport/Man whilst D has dissapeared or no drive at anytime? If you have nothing nice to say,say nothing at all. |

All fixed now and luckily not too expensive ! My gear selector and arm were seized, new arm fitted and set up, now it's silky smooth. |
