Under body protection

Hi all,
I'm looking for a fuel tank guard for my l322. I know they are like Hens teeth but thought someone might know of one somewhere???
I'm currently turning mine into an overlander and need under body protection.

Kind regards
Ben.

Hi Ben,
I have started reworking my TD6 for overlanding (again) as well. As far as I am aware, about the only company offering parts for the L322 is Prospeed http://prospeed-group.co.uk/product-catego...ogue-ffrr/

I have an original Mantec sump guard that I will either modify (which is kind of a shame, as they really are rare) or I was thinking of selling it and purchasing a Prospeed guard as I can't use it with the front "wings" L&R as I will be building my own bumper and the corners will be much higher than OEM.

If you are interested and want to go original, make me an offer.

Regards,

What sort of money are you looking for and would you ship to Ireland?? Also what do you mean by front 'wings' L&R??

Hi Stan, how've you been? It's been a while (since I've been here... Whistle )

Hi Ben,
This is exactly what I have:

I think the 'wings' are self-explanatory Smile

I'd have no problem shipping to Ireland. There are relatively cost-effective shippers to the UK, can't imagine that Ireland isn't doable. That said, it is both big and heavy...

As far as price goes, I'd want to have my costs covered (with a replacement sump guard from Prospeed) while saving this valuable piece of RR history Smile . So £449.00 + shipping for the Prospeed sump guard + whatever it takes to ship this one to you in Ireland.

I have no idea if that is way too much... The Mantec guard is brand new (never mounted) but without mounting hardware.

Hi Steve, mine is a 2007 tdv8 would I have to modify it to fit mine as well?
If I do I think it would be a shame as they are rare to find?
Thanks.

D'oh. Don't know why I was under the impression that you had a TD6. I must've looked at too many threads that day...

No, it won't fit - or you'd have to modify it. There were several iterations of the underbody protection throughout the years. Yours actually need one of these:

The 'wings' for the earlier models end much further back. Here is another pic that shows the guard from the side:

And a good thread w/lots of pics and history (and where I got most of the pics I posted above :p ):

I will reassess mine in the coming days. And unless I see a good reason not to, my 'wings" will be lopped off...
I am going to check with the G4 owners club first, tho.
