I have a stag system on my bmw 4.4 v8. It was fitted by Autoprofessgas who are located just north of Cardiff. They are Polish and know their stuff and a closer to u in brum. 👍

I had a prins system fitted by a guy called Matt who is in Birmingham. His attention to detail was fantastic. The compressor was moved to the side box under the boot floor with a specific mount to dampen as much sound as possible, its been fantastic so far.The doughnut tank went where the spare wheel would have been. This meant I didnt lose any boot space.

I have done 16,000 miles with no issues at present. This system does have the auto lube system fitted.

It cost me £2500.

It's been a god send. And the guy that did mine lives only 1 mile from me. It's way passed paying me back already. I used a 90litre doughnut tank in spare wheel in boot and moved compressor to side box in the boot. Had my 4.2sc on lpg with lube system never ran out after 60k valves seat eaten away dead engine, be careful these seat are really soft.

What Lpg system did you use btw. Just wondering as my recent one is the recent Prins Vsi Model.

I am at 20,000 miles now on mine. Range Rover Vogue SE 2007 L322 4.2 Supercharged 121k. Engine rebuilt @ 120666 Miles

I had a Romano system, with flash lube, full return system worked great even had petrol mixed at higher rpm to offset the calorific value of gas vs petrol to retain top end performance. It
But the seats just too soft.

Mine was fine for miles not a missed beat, i did change plugs every 15000 miles as well as other regular service items, I used good brand flash lube and never ran out.

At about 55,000 miles of use i started getting odd misfire, started on number 7, it was only every now and again then it got worse then i got misfire on number 4 and then started getting them on all cyclinders, did a compression test and number 7 was really low at about 60,000 car went into limp all the time, 62,000 car was no longer driveable sold it for parts, took the heads off valve seat were pitted and eaten away.

I also used to used 1 in 5 tanks of petrol so 4 tanks gas 1 tank petrol to give it natural lube, i thought i followed all the guides to reduce risk to the heads but they still went.

Just passing on my experience so that hopefully others can avoid my pain.

My time on gas was painless and no issues until the end.

That's a shame, perhaps people usually move them on before they see symptoms or maybe you've been a bit unlucky, I've just spent a few bob on mine and it's now looking pristine, so I'll be keeping it for a good while unless something terminal happens.
You don't hear too many having problems tbh, maybe they keep it to themselves though.

Did you have any issues with it running lean?

Was the cel working ok?

No issues with it running lean, i had the system configured so bleed in petrol whenever there would not be enogh calorific value in gas to give the required response.

I used to monitor it a lot and service gas filter regularly and frequent plug changes.

It was 121,000 when i died, i brought the car with 58k on it and had the conversion done.

I am not trying to put people off lpg its great and makes running the big beasts cheaper. Just sharing my experience so others can learn. If i did lpg again i would probably do a more 1 in.3 petrol tanks to help protect the valve seats, theres no right answer but LPG is great i even had my own skid at home as was paying 35p a litre.

Lighthouse - wouldn’t it have been worth getting the buckets done or new seats hardened seats fitted rather than scrap it? Current stable:
