Sensor in the spare wheel well on L322


Hi all, Anyone know what this sensor does in the spare wheel well ?

Cannot say for sure sorry, but I’d hazard a guess it’s the TPMS receiver for the spare. David

Its an accelerometer for the 2009> active suspension... Otherwise known as a yaw sensor Thumbs Up

this is what threw me, the book i have perhaps is for older models and newer or higher spec ones had the spare monitored

TPMS sensor/reciever's are on the rear of your inner wheel arch/splash guards sir and look like a plastic ariel Thumbs Up

tho.. when i google Range rover Yaw sensor none of the pictures look like the one in my spare wheel well....

There are several of them around the car and they all sense body roll as you travel, then the system adjusts the active shock absorbers to suite Thumbs Up

Called a lateral accelerometer... Here is the same thing for a D2

Gotcha, thx folks..great info..... not a great placement of the sensor if you are chucking the spare wheel back in't hole.... but now i know i need to be very careful of it Smile

Oh well, pretty sure the spare on my 2007 was monitored as well (I had enough trouble with the TPMS).

But I knew someone would be along who knew exactly what it was....... Thumbs Up David
