Loud fan noise when charging PHEV

Hi everyone,

When I charge my PHEV, the car's fan starts up and often stays on until the car is fully charged. In the hot weather, it seems to be even louder than usual and I was wondering if others have experienced this?

Many thanks,

Ed 2024 Range Rover P550e AB

Most EV/hybrid have a fan running when charging (the battery and system does heat up when charging).
It might just be noisier on the L405 - did you ask you dealer's tech by any chance?

Not mentioned to dealer, but good to hear that this happens with other EVs. It all seems to work perfectly apart from this so I'm not concerned, but just wanted to check! Thanks for the reply. 2024 Range Rover P550e AB

Yes, one of the fans stays (loudly) on all the time while charging. 2019 Vogue P400e

So energy is lost creating pointless heat and lost driving a fan to dissipate said heat but electric cars are better for the planet. letters not necessarily in the right order

Mine makes the loud noise as described.
it also makes it when using the remote climate, which is an absolute god-send in this weather, cooling the interior down to 22c before I get in and waft away!

The remote climate is very effective isn't it. Much more so than it was in my previous V8 L405. Have they improved it, or is it related to the fact that the car is plugged into the mains when I switch it on? 2024 Range Rover P550e AB
