I have the adaptive cruise control on my 2012 Westminster. Is a 'nice to have' but would not have chosen it.
I do quite a bit of mixed driving and the ACC is not that good in traffic. I find the minimum gap between the car in front is to big and enables overtakers to jump into the gap, if your not on the ball in cancelling the ACC you end up kissing the steering wheel when the brakes are automatically applied.
It does come into it's own if the motorway is not too crowded but how often is that in the UK???

Agreed. Hardly use it. I do set it to minimal distance as otherwise its too long a range 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

Hi Greg

Could I have a spec brochure please? Was about to put my own post up asking
About standard specs, so this will be ideal. I don’t have PM ability yet as I’m still too new Smile

Here’s my email: marknash99@gmail.com

Thanks in advance Thumbs Up

I only use ACC on mine on the motorway, usually to help get a good DPF regen cycle.

Most of my travel on business is on motorways, hence the interest in adaptive cruise. Fed up with leaving a sensible gap to the car in front only for some very silly person to fill it and I have to fiddle with the cruise ...

That's exactly why I hate adaptive cruise. Even on its "closest" setting you stand off far enough back for some numpty to fill in and you end up going slower and slower. Unless paying proper attention you never actually catch anyone up to overtake them unless you're an overtaking lane hog. As a result I'm much more often on the accelerator while still supposedly in cruise than I ever was on the standard system. I found that much safer as I'd set the speed I wanted and I just needed to cover the brake in case of numpties or traffic. When you get adaptive, the first time you experience the car standing itself on its nose because it thinks the lorry you're overtaking is in your lane you'll get the idea. Its pants.... Mike - MPx

Maybe there is an issue with Mikes adaptive cruise (unless they are all like that).

The adaptive cruise on the DAF's I drive do not re-act in this way, in fact they work very well indeed & can detect that a vehicle that pulls onto your "safe space" is not cause to react straight away. If a cheapscate manufacture like DAF can do it surely JLR can ? 2003 Range Rover Vogue TD6
