VIN from reg?

Hi is there a tool to find the VIN from the registration number?

I want to check the spec of a car before I go to see it.

There was but not anymore. Something to do with the new data protection stuff.
I managed to do a check on a vehicle around the end of May, 2 weeks later the facility had gone.
See if you can find someone in the trade with access to an hpi register.
