ABS ECU

Ive got an issue with the ABs ECU on my 2003 and I just need to know if I can still drive it with the ECU off the car ?
I appreciate it will throw up all kinds of errors, but its doing that any way. I just wondered if the little plungers that stick out when taking the body off will not fall out. Im only talking short journeys to work and back. No7 - 2003 V8 Vogue
