United Kingdom 2017 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Aintree Green

The three best cars I’ve ever owned are the Fatty, my D4’s and some 2.5 Diesel XM estates in the late 90’s / early noughties. While the XM’s are now ancient history, I’d have had another Discovery, if they hadn’t been discontinued. However, other than that, everything other than the Fatty is a just step down / backwards.

Because of that this is probably the first car that I’ve ever owned where I don’t give any thought at all as to what else I’d replace it with. Thumbs Up

United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Autobiography Black TDV8 Barolo Black

For me it would be an RS4 or RS6.
I keep looking at them from time to time, but at present can't bring myself to sell the L322, and can't quite swing adding another car to the fleet.

We are both hugely impressed with Mrs W's newish RR Sport too, but pointless in having two the same.

I like the look of the new defender, and the 405 too, but again not enough to change. Too many toys, not enough time

There's nothing much that munches miles like XM's! I've never owned a 2.5 but have had several V6's. I still have a 2000 V6 Exclusive with 53k on it Smile

Like the idea of the new defender, especially with the 400hp 3.0v6 petrol in it.....

But managed to build one out to over 80k on the confabulator Rolling with laughter Shocked There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Ireland 2015 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Corris Grey

Vanquish for me , price of cars over here means I couldn't justify a new L405 ( 240k odd euro for the equivalent of my 2015) but when I retire in 10 odd years , I can see a l322 4.4 and a Vanquish in the garage. 2015 4.4 AB

David.

The 2.5 was a fabulous engine and amazing to think now that it “only” had 130 bhp! That low mileage V6 sounds nice 👍

I had two petrol xm estates, just lovely cars in their day. Huge boot for the dog or DIY kit , So comfortable ,all the toys ,and like*** off a shovel fast. . I went everywhere at 100mph. Loved them.

I recall a mercedes owner passenger remarking about the smooth ride.

Never bought a six, but we had a couple of 5’s for SWMBO’s commute Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc

He who dies with the most toys wins...

There’s a strong undercurrent of ex XM owners here Thumbs Up

I bought two of mine from a specialist in Oxford, Paul Johnson at The Citroen XM Centre. I’ve still got an old photo somewhere of around 30+ XM’s parked in his compound! Sadly, I’ve not driven one in 16 years Sad

After having two sports and a ff I left the fold and got a Jaguar XFS sportbrake. I’m liking the jaguar experience.

Here’s one that I helped track down for a good friend at work (alongside a later aluminium one that I had as a loaner)

And one I helped to find for my nephew (not an S though):
