It’s to do with the size of the collar on the nut. Earlier cars ->06 are 20mm shank and 06> are 23mm shank, the wheels are the issues rather than the car. Earlier wheels need the thinner nuts, later wheels the fatter ones.

To look at the wheels, I think one type has a dimple in and the others don’t, to identify as per above, but I can’t remember which is which. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

this is the wheel that causes confusion..it comes in 2 types, one has dimples around the stud holes and the other has straight through holes..

Are the tapers / mitred ends only on the later type?
