how you you remove 'service required' dash message?

Unexpectedly had the 'service required' dash message pop up tonight.

Serviced by me 1000 miles ago. I did think I reset the oil thingy. Maybe not?
Or is that different?

There's no warning triangle. I hope I don't have diluted oil, can't imagine that after 1000-odd miles though.

Reading the owners manual 'service required' is a periodic thing.

I understand the IID can reset / clear this but I had a look through the menus and could only see vehicle reset.

Hoping for a little help, thanks!

. Cheers, Greg

Cheers guys!

MOT today and, although this message doesn’t come with any warning triangle, I didn’t want any dash messages.

Not sure if any warnings are a problem, I have a vague thought they are.

Wish me a clean pass!

. Cheers, Greg

Cheers Mike!

Just came back with a clean pass. Thumbs Up

But just to keep me on my toes - as they reversed it off the ramp (no sir you can't, we have to do it) EML light came on out of nowhere.

What??

Now I had my pass in hand so I wasn't too worried but the guv was grilling his junior guy saying was it there? Did you check? etc.

I knew my IID was already plugged in from earlier so while they were conflabbing looking at e dash I was a short distance from the car I fired up the Gap App ) and I cleared errors.

They were 'oh it's gone out'. I did put my hand up said I cleared it and Guv was happier, he was convinced his guy missed it.

But it definitely wasn't there when I left the car.

Error was something transmission signal related. But hasn't come back. Will check it out.

. Cheers, Greg

PS
Don’t forget to unplug iid or it will flatten your battery overnight.

Just checked and EML (Engine Management Light) is indeed a fail.

If it happened while they were carrying out the test probably would have failed could you believe it.

Lucky / unlucky.

Very good news on the MOT pass Greg - well done!

I was meant to be having mine this afternoon in Poole which I came down especially for, but sadly the garage phoned 30 mins prior to the booked time just as I was jumping in the truck to say actually the MOT tester is going home at 15:00, and thus my 15:15 slot doesn't actually exist today, despite being booked over a week ago. Not very helpful...

Thankfully I've found a little MOT garage down in Greenwich that have availability tomorrow (Sunday) morning, so will try them instead.

Although sadly my front left wheel was on the bump stops this morning, having had a suspension warning as I passed Winchester last night, so I assume the air bag has a little pinhole somewhere. I too was worried about the errors for MOT, but thankfully had my IID with me and cleared it upon arrival last night, and it hasn't yet come back. It's been fine driving around today, and seems to stay fully inflated for hours, so hopefully might get it through the MOT and then swap it out, rather than panic before!

Have spent today reading threads and watching videos on air bag and/or strut replacement Smile.
