What could be the source of a whirring noise from here

Got a whirring noise, present in Park or Drive. It's not there for the first 10 minutes from cold but gets progressively more noticeable as the engine reaches temperature. No dash warnings.

I used a stethoscope to try and find the source and it is only audible roughly in the yellow oval. Tried loads of other locations but no whirring.

What could be whirring at this location (drivers side cylinder bank)?

Thanks

Sorry, poor photo. Yesterday i thought it was coming from the middle of the below pic (under the 90 degree flexible inlet hose), today I can't hear anything!

Dry belt tensioner or alternator bearing?

Does the noise change with engine speed?

Thanks Mike, yes I was thinking something on the accessory belt. Has an alternator 5 year s ago (only 15K miles though) so I was thinking tensioner. My local garage diagnosed a wheel bearing but I can hear this at idle in Park. It might need a bearing too but it can't be the whole problem. Think I'll take it to a specialist. To answer your question, no the noise seems pretty constant. It's not AC related as have tried turning that off. Could it be intake/exhaust leak or a gearbox/transfer box type issue? New fluid?

If you're hearing the noise at the top/front of the engine, it's unlikely to be the gearbox fluid.

My money would be on the belt tensioner, they seem to go at around 60-70k. Normally they're noisy at startup and as the engine heats up, the bearing goes quiet. You would be able to hear it on the move and stopped, though they normally change noise when the engine speed changes.
