LPG availability getting less ??

I did an awful lot of miles last year and is it just me or is lpg getting harder to find ?...i know that many shell stations are doing away with lpg altogether and i have found less and less motorway services have it now whereas i seem to remember it being ubiquitous on services not that long ago

What have you good folk found ?

I have Dave..in fact more than one...and also converted the garmin poi to a format suitable for my igo...the app is showing approx 1800 lpg stations listed however i dont know if its been more in the past.........i travel 26 miles for my lpg even though theres one 3 miles away....18p a litre difference ...its worth it !

I was always under the impression that motorway services had to sell it (dont know where that idea came from) along the lines of they are obliged to offer free parking for x amount of time

In fact many places i remember buying from in the past have dissavanished but thats progress i spose. I took a hiatus from extensively travelling the length and breadth of the UK for about 2 years whilst i settled into retirement so last year and in january i was susprised at lack of stations stocking it....I never used to need an app to find it...i could keep an eye on my green dots and come across one with no problem

The link given in the post above is years out of date.

Very few BP garages now supply LPG.

Link out of date? LOL!

Most odd as I use that link on a weekly basis.

The website is updated by the users so if someone knows that LPG is not available, has changed price or that a new station is available, then the information can be amended by that user. If a user can't be bothered to update the price for the benefit of others, then that says something....

regards to all.

John

Shell have lost interest in the LPG market, I plan my routes around the stations I know have it, although saying that I got caught out today. had to pay 0.699 for it which I hate doing, but it's still cheaper than petrol.

One garage goes and the next nearest one put the price up by 5ppl.

Looking in to getting my own skid unit.

Definitely getting harder to find in Oz.

My P38A had an injected system but I won't bother converting my L322. The loss of cargo space is a problem. MY P38A had a toroidal tank in the wheel well and a Kaymar rear bar and wheel carrier.

Now that I'm retired, I doubt I do enough km to warrant it.

Petrol is (when I fuelled up today with 95RON) the equivalent of 80p (A$1.5Cool per litre Ron B. VK2OTC

Just back from a 3 week break in Perth and noticed how much cheaper it would be to run ours Mr. Green

I was surprised not to see more V8s. Had a few LPG RR’s over the years but don’t cover the mileage to justify the cost of the conversion these days, aside from the fact that nobody seems to be able to convert the 5.0 Ltr anyway!!

The three LPG garages listed nearest to me on the link are no longer selling LPG. LOL.
