Should I stay or go?

Hi, All need your thoughts, I been thinking of changing from the L332 to the L405 2014/5 model is it really worth the extra money over what I have? late 2011 SE, not that bothered about the rear entertainment but like the other toys that the AB have over the SE model?

Unless you plan to run your L322 forever, it's more a case of when than if you're buying an L405 Whistle

I`m very happy with mine, Driving into the city is not something I would want to do as I did it for too many years to count in Del Boy country and Mr Mandelson area.
As they say, the cars the star Had 3 FF in the early days and the wife and kids always felt sick with the body roll and had to work hard to get SHMBO to get in the FF? But she even thinks its a good car and on long runs can read a book/paper without getting sick.
From what I have read the ride is even better than the L322 is it really that much better to warrant the extra 20k to upgrade?
I would still want the 4.4 diesel not convinced about a plugin.
I spoke to someone that is very close to what happens in China and the Government will not go down the electric car route because of the problem of what to do with the old batteries.
But I digress Yes I have fixed things on the car and that's to be expected it`s a complex car with many components I thought they had it sorted with the 2010/12 mk3 so is it that much more sorted or is it an upgrade for upgrade sake.

I loved my 2011 VSE , high mileage forced the change to an L405. In many ways the L405 is an improvement in most areas., however Imy personal feeling is the L322 looks better in that it's more rugged looking ( while still looking very stylish ) the L405 is a bit too much ' euro ' styling for me. The interior of the L405 is a bit bland and not really distinguishable from any other top end marquee. My 2007 buttons etc , were much more Range Rover ish and it's gone down hill from there

The L405 cost me 65k to change( a new 4.4 autobiography with a few toys is over 225k here ) but that's in Ireland where cars are roughly double the price of the uk. It was definitely not 65k worth of an upgrade even though the L405 is indeed an upgrade. In an ideal world I would still be in my L322 but my L405 is a very nice place to be.

Unless you need to or want to change I would save your pennines until such time as you do need to change and the L405 will be cheaper and more plentiful. 2015 4.4 AB

That`s the sort of information/opinion I was looking for as you say as an older owner and not very good with touch screens ie: iPads etc, I can see what you say that the mk4 is a bit jelly mould shape and that's for a reason, to reduce the fuel consumption.
Mine is also high miles but I cannot see a big V8 lazy engine wearing out any time soon? and has proved to be able to do more than most.
I am still very sceptical about the combo of an electric motor and small combustion engine that has to do the work that a big engine has to do because the battery runs out of charge and the fuel consumption goes thru the roof?
I could be talking out of my backside as I do not own one, and my knowledge is only what I read from another post.
Jumping into the FFRR just puts a smile on my face and putting more money into another car that is almost the same just in a different coat seems a no brainer.
