Looks like a lot of work, but the finish product looks great.

Hi thanks for the tips - what leds did you use as I may do mine can you get different brightness as I had white ones fitted to my old l322 and they were so bright at night but I couldn’t turn down the rheostat as you couldn’t see the green on anything else...

Standard SDM 3.5. They still dimmerable like the orginal so you cn regulate it.
A little trick, if adjusting the brightness to the minimum set the light switch not on "Auto", the brightness will dim further Thumbs Up

Took the cluster apart (well a spare) and comes apart easy, but 30 SMDs just in the closet - and the new ones I bought don't have an obvious direction... doh! Current stable:
2006 BMW M6
2007 4.2 V8 S/C FF
Gone:
2002 4.4 V8 FF

How are you getting on with this? Do you have the exact smd you used?

My two needle leds have burnt out and looking on the sport forum this happens if they draw too much power through the tracks and burn them out ... not had it out yet but definitely plausible if they use twice as much power... Current stable:
2006 BMW M6
2007 4.2 V8 S/C FF
Gone:
2002 4.4 V8 FF
