Start Stop coincidence!

So last week had the AC recharged and since then the dormant Start Stop feature has awoken! It’s never really worked (once I recall) from the first day of ownership. But to be honest I wasn’t at all bothered as it’s a pain in the *** any way. I can’t put any tenuous links to it other than the ecu not letting it stop due to cabin temps? Purchased it in Winter so had no clue it needed recharging until v recently.

On the flip side I now know my aux battery isn’t fubar Very Happy

My ff is the 7th car I’ve owned with stop start, 3 different manufacturers and 4 of them brand new. Without exception the stop start has failed at some stage on all of them!!

Disappointingly, the most recent being my Citroen Dispatch which I brought new 18 months ago and up until a few weeks ago had worked faultlessly, but now even that has become intermittent Confused

As for the ff, that’s in a working 99% of the time at the moment, but you know a hissy fit is just around the corner Whistle

I don't think it's a coincidence, pretty sure it will not switch off unless the inside temp is near the temp you select, if the aircon can't get to that temp the engine will stay on to keep the aircon running (the stop start ECU doesn't know the aircon isn't working)

Last one I drove started the engine if you turned down the temp.... Pete

I get that, but in the winter it wouldn't stop even if the cabin was warm and toasty as per the temp selected 21-22 deg.

Well the aircon dehumidifies as well so maybe it's something to do with that...!!

Or maybe it is a coincidence..!! Pete
