be aware that you have a adaptive dynamics car so the new shockers will need to be compatible so the cheap ones won't work. From what I can remember there are only a few options. The LR ones are about 350 a side, the aftermarket ones about 300... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Have them checked and double checked as they leaked from near new! Many have damp tops but work perfectly!

Tis a lot of money to spend if they are not necessary sir Thumbs Up

As Craig says, they all weep a little bit and show a mist of oil

On my 4.4 they had a mist of oil for a few years and were still fine when I sold it. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

i think it needs new ones as it rolls like a boat and it hits the bump stops with the slightest bump, on a speed hump the rear lifts really high , thank you for your replies and taking the time to reply ,, sean

I replaced my rears with Bilsteins. I felt safe using Bilsteins because their firmness is ecu-controlled. I had Bilstens on a D2 and found them excessively firm but they're fine on the L322.
My fronts aren't as bad as the rears were after towing my 2.5T van on rough roads but they will be replaced when funds permit.

I recalibrated my shocks twice with my IIDTool to get more life from them then recalibrated again with the new Bilsteins so that the ecu could take into account the new performance from the rears.

Replaced a few over the past while

Either they leak, or they have absolutely no damping at all

At the time, they were only available as a genuine LR part...

thank you for your replies and help . i priced main dealer and was quoted nearly 1000 euro per unit. bilstein prices were about 650 euro for both , i ended up buying the shock absorbers from aerosus in germany suitable for variable dampening costing 450 euro for both..
