Was trying to get a 22 inch alloy as a spare for my l322. Then I checked the spacesaver, it's actually bigger than my 22s. Can I use it as a spare in an emergency?

I always thought the sizes needed to be the same, but have been corrected by those on here way more knowledgable than I am on such things as differentials & drivetrain.....

The consensus seems to be yes - you'll be fine.

Others have pointed out that a tin of tyre weld & a compressor take up even less space......

A space saver seems to be a step above tyre weld - if your tyre shreds or has a big hole, that's its place.

Having had a puncture in the middle of nowhere, in France, on Sunday, with 300+ miles still to drive, I always go for a full size spare.

OK cool, thanks for reply. I've no intentions of driving long distances, it's just for an emergency back up. I'm never more than 50 miles from home.
