Punchy

Mr Hunt has a couple of P38s in stock:

1.£24k: https://graemehunt.com/inventory/515/2001-range-rover-vogue
2. £16k: https://www.graemehunt.com/inventory/485/2...er-edition

Outliers or a sign of prices on the rise for good ones?

My last P38 was one of the last built. An 02 Plate, Vogue SE 4.6 with only 40k miles on the clock and better than immaculate.

I couldn’t sell it in 2012 and ended up giving it away to WBAC for £3.5k Shocked

With interest rates today and if those prices are anything to go buy, I should have left it on my drive for the last 8 years Neutral

/\ what condition is it in?!

There’s a split isn’t there between the vehicles that are financially viable to save and those that are donors. Some silly parts are tricky to source - load cover stop hinges in lightstone (grrrr) so a poor interior can cost a lot to sort out. Rust is a problem, lower tailgate, rear wheel arches, front wheel arches....

You could pick up mint P38s for buttons a few years ago. Finding a low owner UK vehicle that has really been looked after throughout its life is tough now. Japanese imports are plentiful it seems.

I can’t see the P38 generating the same interest as the classic, it’s always been seen as the problem child, but hopefully a few good ones will remain.

I think Mr Hunt lives in a parallel universe with his pricing.

I've had a couple of P38's and still have a soft spot for them and would buy another if I saw one at the right price and condition. £3500 for an 02 plate was ridiculous, they're still a nice drive and can keep up with modern traffic.

New heads/head gaskets/headliner/air springs/valve block/pump I even split the fuse box in half and resolderd all the dry joints to ensure no electrical issues to name but a few things

You got to love them, I taxed it for the last couple of months just to give the old girl a run out will sorn it at the end of the month

^ with hindsight it’s probably what I should have done. But at the the time 3 boys were still living at home with their own cars. 6 vehicles in the household for a drive that could only take 3, don’t think the neighbours would have been impressed Whistle

Now they’ve all flown the nest and there’s plenty of space, I don’t think I’ll be rushing out to buy a P38 for £20k anytime soon.
