Got to use my Screwfix/hilka brake calliper retractor. Which tbh made the job of pushing the calliper piston back super easy.

For 7/8 quids it was a bargain. I put an old pad against the piston to protect it as it came with adapters for wind back pistons and nothing flat. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

New Shiney went to LR today to have the oil sensor wiring modificated. All very simples and covered under a recall? Pretty
Sure it isn’t technically a recall, more a tsb but it’s done and was FOC. Passed the health check with flying colours, aparently it looks like the front arms seem to have been done at some point, and it got a wash and vac, which saves me doing it......

Was all ready for collection for me in their shiny new derby showroom. What they did have in there was a new deafener and also a Project 8 Jag. Which looked angry. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

It’s a big car. Quite Tonka toy in appearance, It is in principle a better replacement for the D4 than the D5, it’s difficult
To get a good sense of it from a showroom though. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Looks like the Old Shiney has gone to a new home

I just checked the given Reg against the mot checker and it’s come up as an error. Which leads me to believe that it’s gone to a new home and has had a private plate put on it.

Some one got a decent motor there. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Have had my new discs and Pads on for a while and a few hundred miles now.

No squealing, stopping power is absolutely fine, but they are quite dusty, but that could be because I haven’t washed the car for a while...... Big Cry There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Had a new shiny day today.

It got a wash

And having fitted the new rear TRW pads the other day, they are quite dusty, And one side did seem to be marginally warmer than the other after a drive, so while I was checking that out I thought I might as well swap them for some genuine pads.

Go for EBC, significant dust reduction & (they claim) 30% better stopping performance

. Cheers, Greg

Im thinking that way. The fronts are also quite dusty. So I’m going to have a shop and see what I can get a set of Greenstuff pads for.

The EBC shop says about £160, but there are some online shops selling them for less so time to get googling.

For reference, it took 35 mins to swap Pads on both sides, and I’ve now discovered that my 405 fits into my garage and if I move the bmw hardtop out of the way I will be able to Shut the door!! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
