TD6 egr thermostat

My engine on my 2006 won’t get out of the blue section on the temp gauge ☹️ I’ve done a search on here and read through some threads about the egr thermostat. Can someone tell me where it is and where to get one from please?
I contacted Rob @ duckworths and he said he couldn’t see one on the diagram?
Thanks
Ian

Changed mine and didn't make much of a difference , even though it was passing (is a one way valve) . Suspect I need to change my main one but cannot be bothered for the mileage I currently do in a year - max 2000 miles.

The EGR blanker does not eliminate the egr cooler/thermostat, it just blocks the exhaust gases from going into the inlet manifold. So no.

However, you may have seen in your research that some have removed the egr cooler/'stat. .

Yes ! Is that just a case of removing the egr thermostat then capping the pipes?

If you are removing the egr valve and wish to ensure there is no coolant flow through the redundant egr thermostat without renewing it all you need to do is block it. To do this you need to remove the top right hand connection, when looking down on the thermostat and insert in the exposed end of the thermostat a 12mm cut length of stainless steel 12mm threaded rod or bolt wrapped with a few layers of ptfe tape to ensure a snug fit. This effectively plugs the egr thermostat ensuring no coolant flow whatever the state of the thermostat. Then simply reconnect the pipe. No need to worry about the plug moving, it can't go anywhere.
Trust me, this works very well. Thumbs Up Wink

Yes that is the pipe you unclip. Thumbs Up
Undo that, push your bung into the thermostat body as far as it will go - it will stop up against the closed valve and refit pipe.
Just make sure your bung is a good tight fit with ptfe.
Don't do this until you have done away with the egr valve.
