It was quite nerve wracking.

I forgot it was updating, plugged my diagnostic tool in to see if there was a code relating to the noise I’m getting, which then set off all the fairy lights..... hdc, gearbox, terrain response, dsc etc were all Censored aparently....

So at this point a bit of wee came out as I then realised the maps were still updating. So I took it for a 1/2 hour drive to put some diesel in. And by the time I got back the map update was showing as complete, the car had Mended itself (apart from the noise) but then I had no maps......

All calm again now courtesy of YouTube and the powerfulluk boys. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Just updated my 2015 sat nav with the latest 2020 maps...took a risk with a Spanish supplier..at £84 and all worked! New maps! Although had problems downloading the file over the internet, they sent a USB stick which worked. It takes about 2.5 hours but will pick up where left off so that you can update over a number of journeys.

I've now been able to test the new maps - so far, so good. As highlighted on the Here site, lane suggestions are greatly improved. Previously these only seemed to appear on motorway guidance but now on multi-lane A roads. Only weird thing is a no through road near my house now appearing as the opposite (I wish it were so!).

I’ve had a problem with mine and hope some of you can offer some advice

I purchased the Land Rover update USB, followed the instructions to obtain my activation code, and stated the update. All going well, says update will take 2 hours 40mins. Then about 10mins into the update I get a message come up saying update is 100% complete and navigation is restarting.

Now all I get is a message saying navigation initialising and I have no maps or anything. The rest of the media system is working, just the nav which has thrown a wobbler.

Any suggestions before I pick up the phone and argue with Land Rover!

Thanks! Tom

I would certainly give it another try - it certainly takes as long as indicated! Then you can call LR if you get the same result. It important to remove the stick as soon as the update is complete, then switch off, lock the car and leave for at least 20 minutes. If it's worked, the system will have rebooted and the maps should appear.

Tried it again and I get a message saying that the data on the USB is older than the data in the nav, so it won’t update.

I called the Here support number and the chap I spoke to said that something has clearly gone wrong because for the above message to appear it means that the car has taken the data from the USB, however the update should never only take 10mins so there could be a fault with the data.

He has passed it on to the technical team and I should get a reply early next week. No nav at all but I won’t be needing it so that’s not a problem, just hope they sort it out fairly quickly.

I’m wondering if they just need to send out another USB.

Will let you all know how I get on in case others have a similar problem. Tom
