help please.

I’ve been cleaning in the engine bay (I know I shouldn’t) anyway I think I’ve dislodged some pipe work and I’ve no idea where it should go

This was hanging loose at the back right hand side of engine anyone have any idea what it is ??

This is a inline fuel filter I think but there’s no pipe on the bottom of it and I can’t find one either

HELP

The second pic is supposed to be like that, it’s a breather for the gearbox or diff, so they don’t drown when wading. Can’t help with first pic though.

That looks very similar to the breather pipe that comes out of the side of the battery.

Re: help please.

Make sure that filter isn't a one way filter. Breather pipes allow air to escape when things get hot and then allow air back in when they cool down. If it has a check valve built in it'll either let air out but not back in or air in but not out. If air can't move freely in or out then oil gets forced out passed the oil seals or air/water/muck gets sucked in. Easy way to check is to pull it off the pipe and put it to your mouth and blow through it, then suck if you can do both all's good, put it back on, if not replace it with one without a check valve.
