I would imagine any good quality, well fitted aftermarket systems would likely perform better than the original system. All this type of tech dates incredibly quickly.

Although I do think that there is something nicer if it's all factory (even if less capable than more modern systems). So I'm happy with what I have (even if it is limited/slightly dated).

Best you can hope for from the factory system is to feed something in via the AV sockets, as already been mentioned above. It will never be HD, so there is merit in hanging mini iPads there or something, but then it’s obviously not integrated.....

If there was a way to replace the dvd changer with chromecast for front and rear it would probably get used a lot more.
