Michelin Pilot Sport 4s 275 40 22

Evening All,

Need some new rubber and wondering about Michelin Pilot Sport 4s, I run 22" anyone use them or have any experience of them?

I have moved away from Contis on both of mine due to noise and went to Pirelli Scorpions as the are quiet and good grip, both of mine are supercharged, so just after any opinions.

I am looking for grip and comfort and quiet, don't care for price or mileage out of them.

I wait with baited breath..... this could be a cluster of odd comments or pure genius comments....

Michelin do a pilot 4SUV as well but which is the best for a 405?

If you put it in the search on the mich site them they come up with either the SUV or the 4S. Arguably as they would be going on a large 4x4 then the SUV could be preferable, though they register as 72db where as the 4S are 71.. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Im considering them too as I don't want foam filled tyres anymore as I get vibrations from the delaminating after puncture repairs.

Be keen to see where you get them and 4 S or SUV. all smug in my new plug!

They are great on the Mini Thumbs Up

I'm likely to get a set for the RR when my summers are next due for a change.

Rolling with laughter I'm looking forward to hearing the reports - I'm still on Conti's - my summers are about to come off & likely have another year on them.

They definitely work well on the Mini though Thumbs Up

Apologies DrF & CUE, been busy getting some custom work on the porchse wheels. Yes i run the Ps4s, they are head & shoulders better than any tyre i've had. Dry grip is fantastic, but the wet handling is simply on another level. Very hard wearing too which is always a bonus.CUE99, If you're in God's country some time soon, give me a shout Mr. Green Thumbs Up

Am I right in thinking you all run P4s summer only and change over to winters when appropriate?

I am looking for a replacement set for our SDV8 and like the look of the Pirelli Zero AS but hear stories about foam insert problems with various tyres with similar technology so am unsure at present what to do?

The choice of 2 different Michelins is somewhat confusing......

I put my reg in here and it recommends the S - but elsewhere on the site the SUV is recommended for, well, SUV's and luxury ones at that, so surely the L405 fits that description Embarassed

I run dedicated winter tyres - I think the Michelins look very much the summer tyre, but clearly depends on the roads you drive.

The 'summer' Conti's look much more all season - here but even they aren't great in the worst of weathers - here Shocked

I used to run winters for years, then it became a right old PITA, i'm on the coast, get zero snow so don't bother anymore. Now i've said that this year will be like the day after tomorrow ..
