So the sensor and associated wiring have solved the issue for £39 rather than the £250. Shame to throw the rest of the stuff away but just happy it’s working.

I've got this exact same problem - finally managed to capture the fault message and it's P2264-00. Like others, there seems to be no apparent loss in performance and it's very intermittent.

Is there any more information on how to replace the sensor? BB's image isn't there any more - was that the workshop manual diagram?

Maltings are a supplier, they have an eBay page and sell land rover parts.

When you order the filter and housing you will see the sensor which it screwed to the back, they’re are two leads that come from it one plugs into the loom the other pushes onto the bottom of the fuel filter. The fuel filter can be seen from on the right hand side of the engine bay. It’s held to the body with two bolts IIRC, you need to undo them and move it toward to replace/remove the sensor and wiring.

Thanks. I assumed that's what they were. I'll see if I can find them.

Appreciate the info. Will have to see if I can find it. 2010 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE

I've got the same issue! Speaking to Maltings they suggest this as a fix:

Any fitment guides?

If I'm reading this right Maltings sold the part in 2018 for £10, then in 2020 it cost £39, now the price is £69.99

That's some rate of inflation 2011 TDV8 Vogue SE

Wish I had bought one earlier! It's still much cheaper than the complete housing.

So I've ordered one as my fault is coming up more and more frequently. Just got to work out how to fit it! 2010 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE

I had the same problem sensor saying water in system etc
when checking cable that connects to base of filter the connector was broken couldn't find a cable at that point so decided to buy a complete 3.6 filter housing and used cable of that
the cable is about 2 inch longer but connector is the same and when fitted you have a larger loop but only you would be able to tell
might be a way to go as a lot cheaper if it fixes the issue

I have just replaced my sensor, but I believe it was just the drain cap off the bottom that was wrong for me. I have the guts of a wiring harness if anyone wants?

Can anyone share the part numbers for the various fixes?

It may be worth looking at the ebay site for Maltings

If ( a big if) I'm correct the 3.6TDV8 unit has the same sensor as the 4.4 although the filter and housing are different and their ebay site shows that complete unit at £39.99. but on clearance. It may be the details are not as they seem on the site, but worth a punt to speak to them about that unit.

HTH and let us know the outcome. Cheers

Matings all out of the £70 sensors linked here now, but called them and they were very helpful, saying that they have another identical sensor which they can provide, so got that on the way.

Is changing over the sensor a simple plug and play job a novice could attempt ?
